Tomato rasam is a very essential recipe for lunch. all will like this recipe. This is very easy to prepare also. Here I have done differently and very special is rasam powder is homemade powder. This recipe is a combination of rasam powder, tomato and toor dal. here i have not added onion and garlic. if you want you can add. but without adding onion and garlic it gives a very different taste and it is very tasty too. try this recipe at home and please comment to us.

Ingredients required :

  • Toor dal - 1 cup
  • Tomato - 1 
  • Green chili - 2 to 3
  • Water - As per the requirement 
  • Ginger -  1 small piece 
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Rasam powder - 2 to 3 tsp
  • Tamarind extract - 1 tsp
  • Hing - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - as per the taste 
  • Jaggery - 2 to 3 tsp ( Optional )
  • Coriander leaves - 3 to 4 tsp
  • Lemon - 1/2 lemon 
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 4 to 5 

Method of Preparation :

  • Initially wash the toor dal, add to the cooker.
  • Add water and give 4 whistles in low flame. 
  • Now take one vessel, add tomato, green chili, and water. cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now add ginger, turmeric, rasam powder, tamarind extract, hing, jaggery, and salt.
  • Cook for 5 to 10 minutes or until tomato cooks. 
  • Now if the cooker is cooled mix the toor dal nicely and add to the vessel. 
  • Cook for 2 minutes. Now add coriander leaves and again cook for 2 minutes.
  • Now switch of the flame and add lemon. tomato rasam is ready.
  • For tadka take a pan to add, ghee to it. Once the ghee is heated add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Fry until mustard seeds start spluttering. Add these to rasam.
  • Now your delicious and tasty rasam is ready to serve.

ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು :

  • ತೊಗರಿಬೇಳೆ - ೧ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಟೊಮೇಟೊ - ೧
  • ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸಿನಕಾಯಿ - ೩ 
  • ನೀರು - ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು 
  • ಶುಂಠಿ - ಸಣ್ಣ ಪೀಸ್ 
  • ಅರಶಿನ ಪುಡಿ - ೧/೨ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಸಾರಿನಪುಡಿ  - ೨ ರಿಂದ ೩ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಹುಳಿ - ೧ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಇಂಗು - ೧/೪ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಉಪ್ಪು - ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು 
  • ಬೆಲ್ಲ - ೨ ರಿಂದ ೩ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು - ೩ ರಿಂದ ೪ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಲಿಂಬೆ ಹುಳಿ - ೧/೨
  • ತುಪ್ಪ - ೧ ಟೇಬಲ್ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಸಾಸಿವೆ - ೧ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಕರಿಬೇವಿನ ಎಲೆ - ೪ ರಿಂದ ೫

ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ :

  • ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ತೊಗರಿಬೇಳೆಯನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತೊಳೆದು ಅದನ್ನು ಕುಕ್ಕರ್ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯಿಸಲು ಇಡಬೇಕು. 
  • ಕುಕ್ಕರ್ ಸಣ್ಣ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ೪ ಸೀಟಿ ಹೊಡಿಯಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಟೊಮೇಟೊ , ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸು ಮತ್ತು ನೀರು ಹಾಕಿ ಬಾಯಿಸಲು ಇಡಬೇಕು. 
  • ೫ ನಿಮಷದ ನಂತರ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶುಂಠಿ, ಅರಶಿನದ ಪುಡಿ, ಸಾರಿನಪುಡಿ, ಇಂಗು, ಹುಳಿ, ಬೆಲ್ಲ ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕುದಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ತೊಗರಿಬೇಳೆ ಬೆಂದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೇಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಟೊಮೇಟೊ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕುದಿಸಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ೨ ನಿಮಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕುದಿಸಬೇಕು. 
  • ನನಹರ ಗ್ಯಾಸ್ ಆಫ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಲಿಂಬೆ ಹುಳಿ ಹಿಂಡಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಟೊಮೇಟೊ ಸಾರು ತಯಾರಾಗಿದೆ. 
  • ಒಗ್ಗರಣೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪಾನ್ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತುಪ್ಪ ಹಾಕಿ, ತುಪ್ಪ ಬಿಸಿ ಆದ ನಂತರ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಸಿವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕರಿಬೇವಿನ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ೩೦ ಸೆಕೆಂಡುಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಫ್ರೈ ಮಾಡಿ. ಅದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಟೊಮೇಟೊ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ. 
  • ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ರುಚಿಕರವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಲಭವಾದ ಟೊಮೇಟೊ ಸಾರು ತಯಾರಾಗಿದೆ.
