Avalakki pakoda or Poha pakoda is very easy and instant recipe. Morning i was doing gojju avalakki at that time soaked avalakki became more so got this idea immediately and tried the recipe. It came so well. When guest comes to your home quickly you can prepare this recipe it is very easy and very tasty too. definitely they will like. here i have taken thick poha, if you want you can replace it to thin or medium poha too. You can have this with rasam or as evening snacks. It is very tasty to have with chutney or sauce. 

Ingredients Required :

  • Poha / Avalakki / Flattened rice (Thick ) - 1 cup
  • Onion - 2
  • Gram flour - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1/4 cup
  • Red chili powder - 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tsp 
  • Salt - As per the taste 
  • Water - As per the requirement
  • Oil - Deep frying 

Method of Preparation :

  • Initially soak a poha in water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes strain the water from poha and squeeze it. 
  • Now shift the poha to one bowl.
  • Add onion, gram flour, rice flour, chili powder, salt and coriander leaves.
  • Mix them well. In poha water content will be there so, you won't required much water.
  • If you required water add water and mix them well to get a good dough. Now your dough is ready.
  • Keep a oil for deep frying. Once oil is heated make a small ball sized dough and leave it to oil.
  • Once both the side is fried or turned into golden brown colour your poha pakoda or Avalakki pakoda is ready to serve. 
  • You can serve the pakoda with tomato kitchep or chutney it will be very tasty.


ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು :

  • ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ (ದಪ್ಪದ್ದು) - ೧ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ - ೨
  • ಕಡ್ಲೆಹಿಟ್ಟು - ೧ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಹಿಟ್ಟು - ೧/೪ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಕೆಂಪು ಮೆಣಸಿನ ಪುಡಿ - ೨ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು - ೨ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಉಪ್ಪು - ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು 
  • ನೀರು - ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು 
  • ಎಣ್ಣೆ - ಕರಿಯಲು ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು 

ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ :

  • ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ೧೦ ರಿಂದ ೧೫ ನಿಮಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನೀರಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನೆ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು.
  • ನಂತರ ಅದನ್ನು ಸೋಸಿ , ಹಿಂಡಿ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ ಗೆ ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ, ಕಡ್ಲೆಹಿಟ್ಟು, ಅಕ್ಕಿಹಿಟ್ಟು, ಮೆಣಸಿನ ಪುಡಿ, ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು, ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. 
  • ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನ ಪಸೆ ಇರುವ ಕಾರಣ ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ನೀರು ಹಾಕಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡಿ. ಒಂದು ಸಲ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ ನೋಡಿ, ಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನೀರು ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಲಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತಯಾರಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಕರಿಯಲು ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಇಡಬೇಕು, ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಕಾದ ನಂತರ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಣ್ಣ ಚೆಂಡಿನ ಗಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬೇಕು. 
  • ಕಂದು ಬಣ್ಣ ಬರುವತನಕ ಅಥವಾ ೨ ಬದಿ ಬೇಯುವ ತನಕ ಕರಿದರೆ ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ ಪಕೋಡ ಸವಿಯಲು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ. 
  • ಇದನ್ನು ಸಾಸ್ ಅಥವಾ ಚಟ್ನಿ ಜೊತೆ ತಿನ್ನಲು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
