Chattambade is a very famous snack dish of south Karnataka. This is a very favorite dish to almost all mangalorians. It is very easy to prepare, the only thing is you have to soak the Bengal gram 3 to 4 hours before.
From 3 to 60 aged people will like this recipe. you can have this recipe with rasam or sambar also. very very tasty dish. it is a mixture of Bengal gram, onion, chili, and coriander leaves. try this recipe at home.

Ingredients Required : 

  • Bengal gram / Channa dal - 1.5 cup
  • Urad dal - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - As per the taste 
  • Coriander leaves - 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Green Chilli - 3 to 4
  • Onion - 1
  • Oil - For deep frying 

Method of Preparation :

  • Initially soak the Bengal gram and Urad dal for 3 to 4 hours in water.
  • After 4 hours drain the water.
  • Now add Bengal gram and urad dal to the mixer jar. Now add salt.
  • Now grind them to a coarse paste.
  • Shift it to a bowl.
  • Add green chili, onion, ginger, and coriander leaves. Mix them well.
  • Now keep oil for deep frying. 
  • Meanwhile, take a small plastic sheet and put oil on it. Now take a small portion of and make a ball shape and make it a flat round shape. 
  • Once the oil is heated fry the round shape paste both the side in medium flame.
  • Now chattambade is redy to serve.  

ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು :

  • ಕಡ್ಲೆಬೇಳೆ - ೧. ೫ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಉದ್ದಿನಬೇಳೆ - ೨ ಟೇಬಲ್ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಉಪ್ಪು - ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು 
  • ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ - ೧
  • ಶುಂಠಿ - ೧ ಇಂಚ್ 
  • ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸು - ೩ ರಿಂದ ೪
  • ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು - ೩ ರಿಂದ ೪ ಟೇಬಲ್ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಎಣ್ಣೆ - ಕರಿಯಲು 

ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ :

  • ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಕಡ್ಲೆಬೇಳೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ದಿನಬೇಳೆಯನ್ನು ೩ ರಿಂದ ೪ ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನೆ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. 
  • ೪ ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ನಂತರ ಅದನ್ನು ನೀರಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ ಬೇಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಿಕ್ಸಿ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ತರಿ ತರಿ ಯಾಗಿ ರುಬ್ಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು (ನೀರು ಹಾಕದೆ ರುಬ್ಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು). 
  • ಈಗ ಆ ಮಿಶ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸು, ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ, ಶುಂಠಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಕರಿಯಲು ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಗ್ಯಾಸ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಬೇಕು. 
  • ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮಿಶ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಚೆಂಡಿನ ಗಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ಚಟ್ಟೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. 
  • ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಕಾದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ೨ ಬದಿ ಕಾಯಿಸಿದರೆ ಚಟ್ಟಂಬಡೆ ತಯಾರಾಗಿದೆ.

Bisibelebath Powder | ಬಿಸಿಬೇಳೆ ಬಾತ್ ಪೌಡರ್  Bisibele bath powder is a blend of few dals and aroma spices. This is used in famous dish called bisibelebath , which is a famous south indian dish. Preparation time : 20 minutes         Servings : 6 persons Ingredients Required: Urad dal - 1.5 tsp Channa dal - 1.5 tsp Roasted Bengal gram - 1.5 tsp Redchillies - 4 to 5 Cinnamon stick - 2 inches Kapok buds (Marathi moggu) - 3 to 4 Cloves - 1/4 tsp Methi seeds - 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp Coriander seeds - 1 tsp Oil - 1 tsp Method of Preparation: Take a pan, add oil, once oil is hot add urad dal and channa dal, fry it for 30 seconds.  Add Roasted bengal gram to it and fry it further for 30 seconds.
