 Kayi Vade | ಕಾಯಿವಡೆ । ಕಾಯೊಡೆ । Coconut Vade


Kayi Vade is a traditional snack dish. It is prepared during navarathri. It is also prepared in pitrupaksha. This recipe is also more important element of sharda's. Simple combination of rice, coconut
 and chillies make them authentic and delicious.

Ingredients Required

  • Soaked Rice - 1 Cup
  • Grated Coconut - 3/4 Cup
  • Salt - As per the taste
  • Green Chillies - 3-4
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  • Water - As per the requirement
  • Oil - For Deep frying

Method of Preparation

  • Pre Soak Rice for 3 to 4 hours. Drain water. Add Rice to mixer jar, add greenchillies, cumin seeds, salt and grated coconut.
  • Grind it without water, to a medium fine paste. Or as fine as possible.
  • Transfer the grinded mixture to a bowl. 
  • Place a wet muslin cloth on a plate, make small balls of grinded mixture. 
  • Place small balls on cloth with desired distance. Place another end of cloth on balls and gently press them to vada shape.
  • Now Deep fry them in medium hot oil, until both the sides of vada turns light brown.
  • Delicious and traditional kayi vade is ready to serve.

ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು 

  • ನೆನೆಸಿರುವ ಅಕ್ಕಿ - ೧ ಕಪ್ 
  • ತುರಿದ ತೆಂಗಿನಕಾಯಿ - ೩/೪ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಉಪ್ಪು - ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು 
  • ಜೀರಿಗೆ - ೧ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಹಸಿ ಮೆಣಸು - ೩-೪
  • ನೀರು - ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗನುಸಾರ 
  • ಎಣ್ಣೆ - ಕರಿಯಲು 

ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ 

  • ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ೩-೪ ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನೆನೆಸಿಡಬೇಕು. ನಂತರ ಆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಬಸಿದು, ಅಕ್ಕಿಯನ್ನು ಮಿಕ್ಸರ್ ಜಾರ್ ಗೆ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. ಇನ್ನು ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸು, ತೆಂಗಿನ ತುರಿ , ಜೀರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು  ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ , ನೀರು ಹಾಕದೆ ನುಣ್ಣಗೆ ರುಬ್ಬಬೇಕು. 
  • ಇನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಬಿಳಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಒದ್ದೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಡಿ ತೆಗೆದು ಅದನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಪ್ಲೇಟ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ರುಬ್ಬಿದ ಮಿಶ್ರಣದ ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಣ್ಣ ಉಂಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಡಬೇಕು. ಇನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಬದಿಯ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಉಂಡೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ವಡೆ ಆಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ತಟ್ಟಬೇಕು. 
  • ಇನ್ನು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸಿಯಾದ ಎಣ್ಣೆಗೆ ಈ ವಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎರಡು ಬದಿ ಕಾಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡರೆ ಕಾಯಿ ವಡೆ ತಯಾರಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Bisibelebath Powder | ಬಿಸಿಬೇಳೆ ಬಾತ್ ಪೌಡರ್  Bisibele bath powder is a blend of few dals and aroma spices. This is used in famous dish called bisibelebath , which is a famous south indian dish.
