You will get potato in all the season. you can prepare variety of recipes from potato. Here is our very traditional dish from Potato , its potato gojju. Its my mother's recipe, now her daughters are carring it forward. This recipe is very tasty to have with rice. Its very simple , those who go for work, this is the best recipe. Bachelors can prepare this recipe because no mixi is required to prepare this dish. Potato is very good source for iron and it is also good source of vitamin B1, B3, B6. It is also contains minerals such as potassium, phosphors and magnesium . try this.  

Ingredients Required :

  • Boiled and mashed  Potato - 1 cup (2 to 3 Potato)
  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Chopped green Chili - 2
  • Salt - As per the taste
  • Water - As per the requirement (1/2 cup)
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 4 to 5 leaves
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli - 1 

Method of Preparation :

  • Take a bowl, add boiled and mashed potato it.
  • Now add curd and mix well. 
  • Next add salt, coriander leaves, green chili and mix well.
  • Add water to adjust the consistency. The consistence should not be thick or thin. It should have medium consistence. 
  • You Potato curry is ready keep it side.
  • For tempering take another pan, add oil to it. Once oil is heated add mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, red chili and fry it for 30 seconds.
  • Now add this to the potato curry and mix well.
  • Your potato gojju or potato curry is ready to serve. You can have this with rice. it will be very tasty. 

ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು :

  • ಬೇಯಿಸಿದ ಅಮತ್ತು ಹಿಸ್ಕಿದ ಆಲೂಗಡ್ಡೆ - ೧ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಮೊಸರು - ೧ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಉಪ್ಪು - ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು 
  • ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು - ೧ ಟೇಬಲ್ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸು - ೨
  • ನೀರು - ೧/೨ ಕಪ್ (ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು )
  • ಎಣ್ಣೆ - ೧ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಸಾಸಿವೆ - ೧/೨ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಕರಿಬೇವಿನ ಸೊಪ್ಪು - ೪ ರಿಂದ ೫ ಎಲೆ 
  • ಇಂಗು - ೧/೪ ಟೀ ಚಮಚ 
  • ಕೆಂಪುಮೆಣಸು - ೧

ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ  :

  • ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಗೆ ಬೇಯಿಸಿದ ಹಿಸಿಕಿದ ಆಲೂಗಡ್ಡೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊಸರು ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪ್ಪು, ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು, ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸು ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. 
  • ನಂತರ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪನೇ ನೀರು ಹಾಕಿ ಮಿಶ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಹದ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಮಿಶ್ರಣ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರಬಾರದು. ನೀರು ಕೂಡ ಆಗಿರಬಾರದು. ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಹದದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಆಲೂಗಡ್ಡೆ ಗೊಜ್ಜು ತಯಾರಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ಸೈಡ್ಗೆ ಇಡಿ. 
  • ಈಗ ಒಗ್ಗರಣೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪಾನ್ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬಿಸಿಯಾದನಂತರ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಸಿವೆ, ಕೆಂಪುಮೆಣಮಸು, ಕರಿಬೇವು ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗು ಹಾಕಿ ೩೦ ಸೆಕೆಂಡುಗಳ ಫ್ರು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. 
  • ಈಗ ಈ ಒಗ್ಗರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಿಶ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಆಲೂಗಡ್ಡೆ ಮೊಸರು ಗೊಜ್ಜು ತಯಾರಾಗಿದೆ. 
  • ಇದನ್ನು ಅನ್ನದ ಜೊತೆ ತಿನ್ನಲು ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

Pepper rasam । ಕಾಳುಮೆಣಸಿನ ಸಾರು । kalumenasina rasam | medicinal valued rasam  Pepper rasam is a very traditional recipe. It is very easy to prepare. If you're bored to cook, you can try this recipe. Kokum Rasam

Kokum Rasam Ingredients Required Kokum - 2 to 3 Jaggery - 2 tbsp Salt - as per the taste Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp whole red chillies - 3 to 4 oil - 1 tsp Water - 2 cups Curry Leaves - 4 to 5 Leaves Method of Preparation Soak kokum for 30 minutes as pre preparation. Take a pan, add oil and once oil is heated add mustard seeds and garlic. Wait until garlic changes its color to light brown and mustard splutters. Now add redchillies and curry leaves fry for 30 seconds. Now add kokum soaked water, add jaggery, salt and water then get them to boil. Once its boiled allow them to boil further till 7 to 8 min. Now Kokum rasam is ready. Note : Kokum rasam cane be served with hot rice or can also be drunk as a health drink.
