 Kayi Vade | ಕಾಯಿವಡೆ । ಕಾಯೊಡೆ । Coconut Vade Kayi Vade is a traditional snack dish. It is prepared during navarathri. It is also prepared in pitrupaksha. This recipe is also more important element of sharda's. Simple combination of rice, coconut  and chillies make them authentic and delicious. Ingredients Required Soaked Rice - 1 Cup Grated Coconut - 3/4 Cup Salt - As per the taste Green Chillies - 3-4 Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp Water - As per the requirement Oil - For Deep frying Method of Preparation Pre Soak Rice for 3 to 4 hours. Drain water. Add Rice to mixer jar, add greenchillies, cumin seeds, salt and grated coconut. Grind it without water, to a medium fine paste. Or as fine as possible. Transfer the grinded mixture to a bowl.  Place a wet muslin cloth on a plate, make small balls of grinded mixture.  Place small balls on cloth with desired distance.  Halubayi | ಹಾಲುಬಾಯಿ  Halubayi is a traditional south indian dish. Mostly its prepared as prasadam for festive occasions. It is said that halubayi is a favourite dish of devi. So its more often prepared as prasadam during durganamaskara puja, Navarathri and trikala pooja. This dish is also prepared during other auspicious occasions. Combination of jaggery with rice and coconut makes it more special prasadam.  Ingredients Required Soaked Rice - 1 cup Jaggery - 1 cup Coconut - 3/4 cup Salt - 2 Pinch Ghee - 1/4 cup Water - As per the requirement Method of Preparation Soak Rice for atleast 4 hours. Drain the water from soaked rice. Add Soaked rice to mixer jar, initially grind it without adding water. After grinding now add coconut to mixer jar and add some water. Grind them all together to make fine paste.  Heat a heavy bottom pan, add grinded mixture to it. Flame should be off. Now add jaggery and mix them well by adding more water.  Once jaggery dissolves, switch on the flame. Add salt.

Ingredients Required Green Gram ( Sprouted or Soaked) - 1 Cup Wheat Flour - 1 Cup Gram Flour - 2 Tbsp Salt - 3/4 Tsp Ginger - 2 inch Green chillies - 3 Water - As per the requirement Method of preparation In a mixer jar, add sprouted green gram, greenchillies and ginger. Initially grind it without water. After course grinding add little water as per the requirement and grind it to fine paste. Pour the paste to a bowl.
