Halu Payasa | Rice Milk Payasa | ಹಾಲು ಪಾಯಸ 


Best way to utilize left over rice and can satisfy the sweet craving easily in 15 minutes. Halu Payasa is traditinally made by cooking rice in milk. But just to make the process easier here i have used cooked Rice.

Ingredients Required

  • Milk - 4 Cups
  • Rice - 2 Cup
  • Sugar - 3/4 Cup
  • Cashew - For Garnishing
  • Cardomom powder - a Pinch

Method of Preparation

  • To a pan add milk and allow it to boil, then add rice to it and cook it for 5 minute in medium flame.
  • After 5 minute stir it and cook it for another 10 minute or until milk evapourates.
  • Now add sugar and mix it well. Get a boil again and add cardomom powder.
  • After this, boil it for 5 minute in medium flame and garnish with cashew. Switch off the flame. Halu payasa is ready to serve.

ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು 

  • ಹಾಲು - ೪ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಅನ್ನ - ೨ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಸಕ್ಕರೆ - ೩/೪ ಕಪ್ 
  • ಗೊಡಂಬಿ / ಗೇರುಬೀಜ - ಅಲಂಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ 
  • ಏಲಕ್ಕಿ ಪುಡಿ - ೧ ಚಿಟುಕೆ 

ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ 

  • ಒಂದು ಬಾಣಲೆಗೆ ಹಾಲನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಕುದಿಸಬೇಕು. ನಂತರ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನ್ನ  ಹಾಕಿ ೫ ನಿಮಿಷ ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯಿಸಬೇಕು. 
  • ನಂತರ ಒಂದು ಸರಿ ಕಯ್ಯಿಯಾಡಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸಣ್ಣ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ೧೦ ನಿಮಿಷ ಕುಡಿಸ ಬೇಕು. ಇನ್ನು ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗೆ ೫ ನಿಮಿಷ ಕುಡಿಸ ಬೇಕು.
  • ತದನಂತರ ಏಲಕ್ಕಿ ಪುಡಿ, ಗೋಡಂಬಿ ಹಾಕಿ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಲಸಬೇಕು. 
  • ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕುಡಿ ಬರಿಸಿದರೆ ಹಾಲು ಪಾಯಸ ತಯಾರಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Kokum Rasam

Kokum Rasam Ingredients Required Kokum - 2 to 3 Jaggery - 2 tbsp Salt - as per the taste Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp whole red chillies - 3 to 4 oil - 1 tsp Water - 2 cups Curry Leaves - 4 to 5 Leaves Method of Preparation Soak kokum for 30 minutes as pre preparation. Take a pan, add oil and once oil is heated add mustard seeds and garlic. Wait until garlic changes its color to light brown and mustard splutters. Now add redchillies and curry leaves fry for 30 seconds. Now add kokum soaked water, add jaggery, salt and water then get them to boil. Once its boiled allow them to boil further till 7 to 8 min. Now Kokum rasam is ready. Note : Kokum rasam cane be served with hot rice or can also be drunk as a health drink.
